It's bad enough that some CINO's like Sebelius support abortion, but they are starting to confuse some Catholics into believing that it is okay. It is NOT okay for Catholics to be pro-abort or to support pro-abort politicians. Archbishop Joseph Naumann of Kansas City weighed in on the nomination of abortion "champion" Gov. Kathleen Sebelius, a member of his flock, to head the Health and Human Services (HHS) Department.
In an interview Wednesday with Our Sunday Visitor (OSV), the archbishop said of the nomination: "From the Church's point of view, it's sad because it places another high-profile, pro-abortion Catholic into national leadership along with Vice President [Joe] Biden and Speaker [Nancy] Pelosi and a raft of others that are in the Congress." He also said, "I personally find it offensive" that President Obama would choose a pro-legalized-abortion Catholic to head the HHS. Me too, but what else would you expect from Obama? The only Catholics he associates with are dissenters.
"It makes our job as bishops more challenging, because we have to be even more clear that this is not acceptable for a person in public service to say that they are Catholic and then to support these policies that ... go against the most fundamental of all human rights, the preservation of innocent life," said Naumann.

From the Catechism:
2272 Formal cooperation in an abortion constitutes a grave offense. The Church attaches the canonical penalty of excommunication to this crime against human life. "A person who procures a completed abortion incurs excommunication latae sententiae," "by the very commission of the offense," and subject to the conditions provided by Canon Law. The Church does not thereby intend to restrict the scope of mercy. Rather, she makes clear the gravity of the crime committed, the irreparable harm done to the innocent who is put to death, as well as to the parents and the whole of society.
