The whole Earth Day religion makes me want to go out and pour antifreeze in a pristine stream and burn old tires in a wildlife sanctuary. The whole smug, sanctimonious, "We're Saving the Earth!" thing. Can't they just throw a banana peel on the compost and call it wise use of resources, instead of turning it into something of cosmic significance?
