I don't think that there's any doubt that Obama will continue to help the abortion industry. At an April 29 press conference marking the conclusion of his first 100 days in office, President Barack Obama said that passage of the Freedom of Choice Act was not his “highest legislative priority.” During the presidential campaign, Obama had vowed that “the first thing I’d do as president is, is sign the Freedom of Choice Act.”
The president was asked at the press conference:
In a couple of weeks, you're going to be giving the commencement at Notre Dame. And, as you know, this has caused a lot of controversy among Catholics who are opposed to your position on abortion. As a candidate, you vowed that one of the very things you wanted to do was sign the Freedom of Choice Act, which, as you know, would eliminate federal, state and local restrictions on abortion. And at one point in the campaign when asked about abortion and life, you said that it was above -- quote, "above my pay grade." Now that you've been president for 100 days, obviously, your pay grade is a little higher than when you were a senator. Do you still hope that Congress quickly sends you the Freedom of Choice Act so you can sign it?

He responded:
You know, the-- my view on-- on abortion, I think, has been very consistent. I think abortion is a moral issue and an ethical issue. That was a 'yes or no' question Barry :)

I think if you follow the link he said a lot more than this and I think what is particularly interesting about his statement that the Freedom of Choice Act is NOT a legislative priority for him is that if you go searching among the pro-choice internet community you'll find that they are livid! I've bet quite a bit of money that Obama will prove not to be the most liberal President on abortion ever and that abortions will in fact decrease significantly during his presidency. I could be wrong...I could be right.
