Carla Bruni criticizes Pope Benedict XVI

Why is it that the more secular a society is, the more they think they can tell the Church what to do or say?

France's First Lady said that the Church's teachings had left her feeling "profoundly secular".
She departed from her post's traditional religious neutrality to accuse the Pope of "damaging" countries in Africa with his stance on birth control. Damaging? LOL He is right, and PLENTY of experts agree with him. Please see my post linked below.

The Italian-born former supermodel risked angering believers in France and beyond by declaring that the Pontiff's proclamations showed that the Church needed to "evolve". Sorry Carla, truth doesn't change.
In March, the Pope sparked controversy while on an Africa tour by saying that the AIDs pandemic which has crippled the continent "can't be resolved with the distribution of condoms; on the contrary, there is the risk of increasing the problem".

I think she "left" the church years ago

Well there is no shortage of birth control here in England and it doesn't seem to be doing any one any good so I wonder what she is using as her model when she makes these claims?

I posted Carla little snit at my blog as well. Silly woman. She left the Church long before Benedict went to Africa.

funny how "ex-Catholics" are the most bitter.
