I heard Don Feder on the Sonrise Morning Show today, speaking about "Demographic Winter" and "Demographic Bomb", two DVD's he's worked on. He discussed the effects of declining global birthrates due to abortion and birth control. The point he made that most caught my attention is that the economy follows birthrates by about 20 years; when birthrates increase, the economy increases and when birthrates decine, the economy declines.http://www.demographicwinter.com/

Here in Australia we haven't really had any affect from the lack of reproduction. That is because of migration though and I cannot help but wonder what would happen if we stopped getting migrants from third world countries.
