LOL Only the libs and dissenters would be critical of Pope Benedict XVI for unifying the Catholic Church with others. I think it is a very good thing. The battle lines in the culture wars within both the Anglican and Catholic Churches have become clearly visible with the announcement of new provisions to bring traditionally-minded Christian Anglicans into the Catholic Church in groups. Some are accusing the Vatican of having torpedoed the remains of the rapidly deteriorating Worldwide Anglican Communion with its surprise announcement by Cardinal Levada, the head of the Vatican's doctrinal office on Tuesday.
Although officially denied by the Vatican, it is being widely acknowledged that the move has been in response to overtures by the Traditional Anglican Communion (TAC), the largest of the "conservative breakaway" groups. The TAC has objected to the Anglican Churches' decisions to ordain women to the clergy and episcopate and to embrace homosexual activity as equal to natural sexual relations, as well as other deviations from traditional Christian teaching. After decades of apparently fruitless "ecumenical dialogue," observers have said the Pope has taken the matter into his own hands and offered a refuge to Anglicans who adhere to the tenets of classical, biblical Christianity.

I think this is wonderful news and I embrace the TAC with open arms!
I wouldn't call it unification, but the RC church cherry picking people that are dissatisfied with the Anglican/Episcopal church's agenda and policies. I was a few years ahead of my time.
It looks like some in the Anglican community want to force their views. "Our way or no way.", they might as well say. I am sure it comes as a great surprise and shock (to them) that the Pope is far more open. It simply boggles my mind that a "church" tries to force non-biblical views and force that by hook, crook, law, or whatever other means at it's disposal. I will continue to pray for the "church" I left, but I almost fear any more prayer and they will simply become a bridge club. Gotta do what I gotta do though.
Oh, and I don't think it was the Pope who torpedoed their "dialogue" or "church". They ought to look in the mirror and read the bible if they really want to know who did that. Or, simply pray to speak with the Architect.
Men and women who value freedom should stand and cheer the Pope. The message he sent to progressives was heard loud and clear, you will not be allowed to undermine people's faith. I would urge the gay community to sever all ties with progressives and their unholy agenda. Progressives are primarily the ones setting the hateful tone in every area of life. They use vulnerable people and causes to push their agenda. Anglicans need to ask, is this what I wanted for our church? I would guess that you have been highjacked under the guise of tolerance. I am a very simple person asking myself why would anyone ask others to drop their values and belief's in order to make a few feel better. Would it be healthier to start one's own church and thus fellowship with like minded people? The only answer that makes sense to me is the progressives desire to undermine God in people's life so that people will turn to them for guidance. The progressives have achieved their actual goal on this issue, not inclusion but the destruction of a spiritual house. Remember the warning about wolves in sheep's clothing.
